App Deletion Policy

How to delete your account, what happens to your data, and your rights under our mobile applications.

Overview

YooPay Software Systems Private Limited develops mobile applications for our business clients and their end-users. This App Deletion Policy applies to all mobile applications developed, operated, or distributed by YooPay, including but not limited to our Invoice Management App, Courier Management App, and any custom applications developed for our clients.

We respect your right to control your personal data, including the right to request account deletion. This policy is compliant with Apple App Store Review Guidelines (requiring in-app account deletion for apps listed on iOS) and Google Play Store policies.

You have the right to request permanent deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time. We are committed to processing all deletion requests promptly and transparently.

How to Delete Your Account

You can request account and data deletion through any of the following methods:

Method 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended)

  1. Open the YooPay mobile application.
  2. Navigate to Settings (gear icon in the top-right corner).
  3. Scroll down to the Account section.
  4. Tap on "Delete My Account".
  5. Read the confirmation message carefully, then tap "Yes, Delete My Account".
  6. You will receive a confirmation notification within the app and via email.

Method 2: Email Request

Send a deletion request email to bilal@yoopaysoftware.com with the following information:

  • Subject line: "Account Deletion Request – [Your Registered Mobile Number or Email]"
  • Your full name as registered in the app
  • Registered email address or mobile number
  • Reason for deletion (optional but appreciated)

Method 3: WhatsApp Request

Send a WhatsApp message to +91 9152706790 stating your registered details and requesting account deletion. Our support team will guide you through the process.

Data That Gets Deleted

Upon confirmation and processing of your deletion request, the following data will be permanently removed from our systems:

  • Your account profile (name, email address, phone number, profile photo)
  • Login credentials (username and hashed password)
  • App usage history and activity logs specific to your account
  • Preferences, settings, and personalization data
  • Notifications and message history
  • Any media or files uploaded exclusively to your account (profile images, attachments)
  • Device tokens and push notification registrations

Data We Retain After Deletion

Certain data may be retained after account deletion where required by law or legitimate business necessity:

  • Financial records: Transaction records, invoices, and payment history are retained for 7 years as required by Indian tax and financial regulations (even after account deletion).
  • Legal compliance data: Any data required to comply with court orders, legal investigations, or regulatory requirements.
  • Fraud prevention: Anonymised or aggregate data used to prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents may be retained indefinitely.
  • Backup retention: Your data may remain in encrypted backup systems for up to 90 days after the deletion date before being permanently overwritten.
If your account was used as part of a business account managed by another party (e.g., your employer or a partner organization), please note that business-level records may be retained by the account owner independently of your personal deletion request.

Deletion Timeline

We process deletion requests according to the following timeline:

  • Acknowledgement: Within 2 business days of receiving your deletion request.
  • Identity verification (if required): Within 3 business days. We may ask for identity verification to protect against unauthorized deletion requests.
  • Account deactivation: Your account will be deactivated and access revoked within 7 business days.
  • Complete data deletion: All eligible personal data will be permanently deleted from active systems within 30 days of the deletion request.
  • Backup purge: Residual data in encrypted backups will be overwritten within 90 days.

You will receive an email confirmation once the deletion is complete.

Consequences of Account Deletion

Please be aware of the following before requesting account deletion:

  • Irreversible action: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All data associated with your account will be lost.
  • Active subscriptions: Any active software subscriptions (Invoice Software, Courier Management) will be terminated immediately upon account deletion. Refunds, if applicable, will follow our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
  • Shared data: Data shared with other users or accounts (e.g., invoices sent to clients, shared courier records) will remain accessible to those parties but will be anonymised with respect to your identity.
  • Historical records: You will lose access to your historical invoices, shipment records, and reports. We recommend downloading or exporting your data before requesting deletion.
  • Re-registration: You may create a new account after deletion, but your previous data and history cannot be restored.

Account Reactivation

Once your account deletion request has been confirmed and processed, reactivation is not possible. If you change your mind:

  • Contact us within 48 hours of submitting your request (before processing begins) to cancel the deletion request.
  • After 48 hours or once processing has begun, the deletion cannot be reversed.
  • If you wish to use our services again after full deletion, you will need to register as a new user.

Requesting Data Before Deletion

Before deleting your account, you have the right to request a copy of your personal data. To do so:

  • Email bilal@yoopaysoftware.com with the subject "Data Export Request".
  • We will provide your data in a machine-readable format (CSV/JSON) within 15 business days.
  • Data export requests must be submitted before the deletion request is processed.
We strongly recommend exporting your invoices, shipment records, and business reports before proceeding with account deletion.
